Patrick Hughes
  

Patrick Hughes, DIFI’s 2008 Honorary Chair,  is well known in Dayton’s audio-visual community.  He has been a DIFI supporter for many years and has used his knowledge of video production to promote the A World  A’Fair.

It was through his work with the Miami Valley African Organization that Patrick connected with the Dayton International Festival, Inc.  He joined the M.V.A.O. in 1988 and has served as this organization’s delegate to DIFI for the past ten years.  He has video-taped the festival, the Miss World A’Fair pageant, and the International Ball since 1996 providing an invaluable history of these events. He produces the annual broadcast featuring the festival,  highlighting interviews from the floor and performances on both the formal and informal stages. Patrick has also served as DIFI secretary and as nominating committee chairperson.

For seven years Patrick produced a live television program about current events in Africa and African related topics titled African Outlook and also a documentary titled African Women’s Issues.  More recently he has worked with the Miamisburg Historical Society to produce a series of programs titled Haunted Miamisburg and is currently in production of a second movie called The Legend of Library Park.  He is also the technical advisor for Y.E.S., Youth Expose Series, a news program produced, video-taped, and hosted by students of the Dayton City Schools.

Patrick teaches television production at Dayton Access Television, and has produced over 700 programs during the past ten years.  Among these are the McCracken Mitchell Journal, Dixon United Methodist Church, Fire in the Water series, and The GhostHunters series.

The multi-talented Hughes is an alumnus of Sinclair College and the University of Dayton, an electrical engineer, an aircraft pilot, and an aircraft mechanic.  He has one daughter who is an Army computer specialist serving in Iraq.
