Naturalization Ceremony

Wedding Traditions Around the World will be this year's cultural theme. All of the participating countries will present wedding traditions at their booths.

In keeping with this theme the festival is making available to a local couple a free authentic wedding and reception supplied by local businesses. The wedding will be from 12 noon - 1:00 on Saturday at the Informal stage, and festival goers are welcome to attend.

Clothing for the wedding party will be provided by Price Stores, and the wedding cake by WIcked Cake Creations.

The Kenya Safari Acrobats from Mombassa, Kenya will once again be highlighting the festival.   They return this year with new acrobats from Tanzania and an entirely new act.  The acrobats will perform their amazing acrobatic feats all three days and on both stages.  

Teradata will be the Military Ticket sponsor, providing free admission for active members of the military.

The Asian American Council of Dayton will be presenting a Health Fair at A World A'Fair. Visitors will be offered screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, blood glucose, ADHD, HIV, depression, anxiety; and educational information and workshops on dental care, communicative diseases, hand washing demo for children and more

We will offer admission discounts to those who have a ticket stub from the FilmDayton Festival, and they will offer discounts to persons who show a ticket stub from A World A'Fair.

Junior Ambassadors of A World A'Fair, a boy and a girl, will be chosen on the Informal stage Friday at 7:00.

This year we will again have a Photo Booth with international costumes to choose from for your photo

The Miss World A'Fair Pageant/Ball has been replaced by an AMBASSADORS COMPETITION / BALL.  This is open to all youth (male and female) ages 15-21 who are members of the DIFI Youth organization.

  • There will be two main winners.  One male and one female.  They will be known as Ambassadors of Goodwill.  and will each receive a $500, 4-year annual scholarship award.

There will be additional winners.

  • Essay Award -- $250 award
  • "Carl Day" Volunteerism Award --special gift basket/gift cards  
  • Peace Makers Winner  -- Special gift basket/gift cards

A World A'Fair Passports
The ever popular Passport program will again be available. Each child visiting the Festival will receive a passport that will be stamped at each booth as he travels the world at this festival.  It is great fun and a great learning experience for children of all ages! A drawing will be held for prizes for children collecting Passport stamps.

Dining Around the World
Dayton International Festival Inc. has put together a cookbook of favorite recipes from member organizations. The books will be available for purchase at A World A'Fair or from any DIFI member.

Advance Ticket Sales
Reduced rate advance tickets will now be available on presale prices through May 20 at all area Kroger stores,  Seibenthaler Garden Centers on Far Hills and Beaver Valley Road, and La Lama Place in Yellow Springs.  The Miami Valley AAA offices will have tickets through Saturday May 19. Advance tickets will be again be available from participating members until the week before the festival.

Naturalization Ceremony
There will be a naturalization ceremony Saturday at 12:00 noon for persons who will be attaining US citizenship.
